This and That

Been a while since posting an update.  In the past two weeks we’ve done a little of this and a little of that.

In the next couple weeks we will be doing a lot more cleaning of fallen gumballs and sticks.  A lot of efforts will be spent around the nearly finished clubhouse too, where we will be installing an irrigation system.

Poa Annua
While the zoysia grass is still dormant we annually spray out all the volunteer cool season grasses.  These are predominately poa annua plants that appear in small clusters.  After a few more weeks all unwanted plants will die and fade away as the zoysia starts to wake up for the season.

Pictured is our “spray hawk” used to apply chemicals in the narrow zoysia strips around the greens.  Also, a picture showing poa annua plants that were treated earlier and are dead while an untreated area is still green(for now).

Bunker Sand Delivery
We received the rest of our needed bunker sand and finished filling the bunkers to the proper depth for play!  These bunkers will take a little time for the sand to compact and be play consistent to previously renovated bunkers.

Clubhouse Irrigation
Last week we started installing the club grounds irrigation system. All areas around the clubhouse and parking lot will be completed in a few weeks!

Driving Range Seeding
The area that was once zoysia fairway has been filled-in with soil, leveled and seeded with fescue grass.  The zoysia was used during fall and winter projects around the property.  The seed will take 2-3 weeks to germinate depending on the weather.
