Week in Review

A roller coaster of weather had us sorting out the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The good.  We took advantage of the forecasted rain and vertical mowed greens and followed it up with a moderate top dressing.  Vertical mowing actually cuts grooves in the putting surface.  It results in cutting lazy horizontally growing grass blades and promotes vertical growth.  The top dressing worked well into grooves with the following rain.

The bad.  We received another 3 inches of rain which took us to a grand total of 10 inches in 8 days.

The ugly.  Bunkers were still trashed.  It has been too wet to mow fairways or tees or keep up with rough.  We will be busting tail to get the course back in shape!
